Francesca is a Research Officer at MAP with the passion for public health and epidemiology. Her role involves working with the Global Malaria Epidemiology team.

Francesca finished her PhD in Health Sciences with a focus on Epidemiology and Biostatistics within the Department of Public Health at the University of Verona, Italy and the Children’s Lung Health team at The Kids Research Institute Australia. Her research project aimed to investigate the early-life predictors of lung function trajectories over the life span, using data from a large prospective cohort of pregnancy, childhood, adolescence, and adulthood carried out in Australia.

Sense of Coherence (SOC) of Italian healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic: analysis of associated factors

The COVID-19 pandemic has posed significant challenges for healthcare workers worldwide, potentially affecting their sense of coherence (SOC) and overall well-being. This study aimed to identify factors associated with different levels of SOC among healthcare workers, exploring demographic characteristics, work-related factors, changes in relationships and social habits, and the overall well-being.

Longitudinal effects of prenatal exposure to plastic-derived chemicals and their metabolites on asthma and lung function from childhood into adulthood

Environmental exposure to phthalates and bisphenol A (BPA), chemicals used in the production of plastics, may increase risk for asthma and allergies. However, little is known about the long-term effects of early life exposure to these compounds.
