Neuroblastoma is a complex childhood cancer of the nerve cells and the most common solid tumour in children outside of the brain. The average age of diagnosis is 1-2 years and tragically 50% of children with high-risk neuroblastoma lose their battle within five years.
The impact of colonisation, genocide, and continuing discriminatory policies have created a context for ongoing disadvantage, trauma, and high rates of mental health issues for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people.
We are developing a gel that can be left behind in the wound bed after sarcoma surgery.
In this project, we are using systems biology approaches to map the wound healing response in sarcoma following surgery to identify new treatments that can prevent sarcoma relapse.
