Andrea Beaton is a recipient of an RHD Fellowship from American Heart Association Children’s Network.
Andrea's project: Working Towards a Better Understanding of ARF.
Project Goal: Characterize the pattern of contemporary and endemic ARF and develop a biological signature to improve sensitivity and specificity of ARF diagnosis.
As part of the fellowship, Andrea has the opportunity to collaborate with leading researchers from international researchers. Jonathan Carapetis is an CI on a subproject to explore the immunology of ARF and to develop a diagnostic test.
