Project description

Before translating drugs into the clinic, it is critical to evaluate their safety. For this project we utilised Dr Jess Buck’s expertise from her training at Oxford University, to design a novel MRI evaluation pipeline. We utilise the pipeline to evaluate the late effects of radiation treatment on the developing brain in mouse models. As part of this study, we have pioneered a sophisticated craniospinal irradiation protocol and demonstrated the importance of mimicking clinical dosing schedules in translational research. These findings are currently being written up for publication to disseminate our findings and cement our standing in the field as leaders in preclinical radiation research.
