This report and series of fact sheets explore findings from Waves 11 and 12 of the Footprints in Time, the Longitudinal Study of Indigenous Children.

The 2025 report explores what helps Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people thrive as they move through adolescence. It highlights the importance of strong family relationships, cultural identity, connection to Country, and safe environments—both offline and online.

Alongside the full report, you’ll find five easy-to-read factsheets that summarise key themes: living environments, family and wellbeing, cultural identity, experiences of racism, and online safety.

The report prioritises the perspectives and priorities of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, it celebrates their strengths and provides insights for families, communities, and services working together to support young people to grow up strong.
