How healthy (or unhealthy) is the food environment around Perth schools?

Investigators: Gina Trapp, Hayley Christian, Heather Croll, Matthew Cooper

Bridging the disciplines of public health, geography, nutrition and urban planning, this unique and innovative project will be the first to quantify the local food environment around all government and non-government Perth metropolitan primary (n=603) and secondary schools (n=223). Using Geographical Information Systems (GIS) technology, locations of all Perth schools obtained from the WA Education Department and listings of all food outlets for 2018 obtained from the 32 Metropolitan Local Governments will be geocoded (i.e., mapped).
