Exploring associations between life course geo-social exposures and rheumatic heart disease in Great Britain: looking to the past to inform current RHD prevention strategies
This project aimed to identify the primordial determinants of RHD to inform prevention strategies. In particular, it sought to explore the life course epidemiology of RHD with a focus on SES, overcrowding, environmental factors as determinants of the development of ARF/RHD morbidity and mortality. The use of a unique nationally representative population-based birth British cohort data set, linked with morbidity, mortality and environmental data sets, will be used to comprehensively examine these associations.
