Project Description

Student wellbeing and school engagement are modifiable factors that have been shown to impact a student’s academic achievement. In this report, we explore the relationship between student wellbeing, school engagement, and academic achievement in a sample of more than 25,000 South Australian government school students who participated in the 2021 Wellbeing and Engagement Collection (WEC) and the 2021 National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN). The aim is to identify aspects of student wellbeing and engagement that are malleable through school-based policies and programs and have strong links to academic outcomes for students.
