The Early Years System Evidence team has continued working with the Australian Government Department of Education after winning, for the third consecutive time in 2020, the contract to provide strategic support and advice and training and to both the Department of Education and the Australian Early Development Census (AEDC) State and Territory Coordinators.
Over the years, this body of work has seen the team support Coordinators to achieve a national response rate of greater than 95% for all three census collections, host three national AEDC conferences, develop resources for schools and policymakers using the AEDC data across jurisdictions including remote Aboriginal communities, and publish various academic papers using AEDC data in high impact journals.
