Supply partnership with Aboriginal businesses to help close the gap

The Telethon Kids Institute is pleased to announce its membership of Supply Nation, a leader in supplier diversity that works to connect Australian companies

The Telethon Kids Institute is pleased to announce its membership of Supply Nation, a leader in supplier diversity that works to connect Australian companies with Indigenous owned and run businesses.

The Institute's Director Professor Jonathan Carapetis said the membership builds on the Institute's commitment to Aboriginal children and their families.

"In 2013, we launched our 'Working Together' commitment, which outlined our plans to improve the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal children," Professor Carapetis said.

"That commitment means not only conducting world class Aboriginal health research but also providing employment opportunities for Aboriginal Australians both within our workforce and externally through the procurement process."

Supply Nation Acting chief Executive Officer Chris Kirby said partnerships like this play an important role in closing the gap on indigenous disadvantage by facilitating growth in Indigenous enterprise.

"I am delighted to welcome Telethon Kids Institute into the Supply Nation program and look forward to working with its staff to develop its supplier diversity footprint," Mr Kirby said.

"Supply Nation is a simple and effective collaboration between Government, Corporate and Indigenous Australia," Mr Kirby said.

"Supply Nation's mission is to facilitate, encourage and promote business between these sectors and Indigenous owned businesses. The measure of our collective success will be in the value of transactions between our members and suppliers."
