Amanda is a Certified Child Life Specialist and has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Arts in Education with an emphasis on Child Life in Hospitals and Early Childhood Education. She has a passion for supporting children, youth, and families in health and medical settings. Amanda’s work particularly focuses on empowering kids and families in healthcare environments, reducing the stress and trauma of medical experiences, and supporting the healing journey during and after hospitalisation.

Amanda also works for The Kids' Community Engagement Team.

Projects

Understanding children and families' hospital experiences to reduce stress and support wellbeing

Our research focuses on identifying practical ways to provide trauma-informed care for children and families visiting the hospital.
