Kabe Redfern is a Consumer Academic in the Human Development and Community Wellbeing (HDCW) team, NICU Dads Project led by Vincent Mancini. Kabe assists in the development of the NICU Dads Project.

Kabe believes that any work done has to be sustainable and not just individually led, with a fair and honest approach to implementation. 

Kabe is in his infancy in the research and development space.  Having spent twelve (12) years in law enforcement, residing in predominately remote communities such as (Broome, Carnarvon, Looma, Burringurrah, Bunbury & York) in Western Australia before moving to the Department of Fire and Emergency Services as a firefighter for the last four (4) years. Kabe provides lived experience in NICU as a father of a premature child, moving from regional WA to Perth in order to facilitate medical care for 6 months and residing at Ronald Mcdonald House Charities in Nedlands.

Kabe holds a Bachelor of Policing and Law from Charles Sturt University and plans to study further in relation to psychology, with an interest in Psychological Distress and impact on families.
