Dr. Yvonne Ellis is a Research and Evaluation officer with the Early Years System Evidence team at The Kids Research Institute Australia in Adelaide.
Yvonne is an experienced teacher and researcher. She has a background in teaching Physical Education and Health in schools and the university. Her research interests have mainly been in the area of movement behaviours (physical activity and sedentary behaviour) and health in young children.
She completed her PhD at the University of Wollongong in 2018. Her research was focused on the impacts of sedentary behaviour on health outcomes in young children. Yvonne was furthermore involved in the development of the 'National 24-hr Movement Guidelines for Children and Young People' as a project officer.
Yvonne has been a topic coordinator and tutor for "Health and PE" subjects in Early Childhood and Primary schools at Flinders University. She has furthermore assisted in different research projects within the College of Education, Psychology and Social Work at Flinders University, such as preparing ethics applications, collecting and analysing qualitative and/or quantitative data, writing literature reviews and research papers.
