You are invited to participate in the Promoting Safe Sun Behaviours in Teenagers Project (the “SunSafe Project”). We have developed an app which aims to help teenagers make balanced and healthy decisions around their behaviours when spending time outside, in the sun. This app will be designed with the input of young teenaged co-researchers, and contain information relevant to teenagers around safe sun behaviours.
Who can be involved?
- We are looking for young people (12-13 years of age) to participate in this research.
- You will need access to an iphone or ipad, and access to the internet at home.
- You will need your parent’s permission to participate.
What does participation involve?
- Download and use an app for 6 weeks.
- Answer a 20-minute online multiple-choice test (at the beginning and end of the study).
- Answer online questionnaires on your sun exposure patterns, skin type and sun sensitivity.
- Answer a survey at the end of the study to give feedback about the app.
