We are a collaborative group focused on improving outcomes for children with leukaemia. The Research Assistant will evaluate novel therapeutics in preclinical models, monitor animals, and perform cell biology and molecular genetics experiments. The candidate will be joining a new team, very motivated and dynamic, that will expand over the coming years.
The successful candidate will:
- Have a BSc (Hons)/Master degree with experience in medical research
- Have demonstrated an excellent planning and strong organisation skills
- Demonstrate knowledge of research methodologies
- Be confident to work independently
- Have strong experience in animal models of disease including colony maintenance and monitoring, performing injections, dissection and analyses
- Have experience in cell biology (in vitro cell culture)
- Be able to work as part of a team and work with collaborators at the institute
- Be able to manage multiple priorities
- Possess superior communication skills (both written and verbal)
This is a part time, fixed term contract for 1 year with the possibility of extension, commencing between mid-April and end of May 2018.
Salary: Between $62,000 to $69,000 per annum pro-rata (0.8 FTE) depending on experience with access to generous salary packaging.
The successful applicant will need to provide a current National Police Check before commencement.
